Jazz Live in Italy: Jimmy Giuffre Trio in Rome (1959)

During his european tour, organized in 1959 by Norman Granz, Jimmy Giuffre (1921-2008) had with his unusual trio a concert in Rome, june 19, at Teatro Adriano.

We can show here the most part of that exibition with a young Jim Hall, guitar and Buddy Clark, bass.
The first "tema" was a composition of John Lewis taken by the repertory of the Modern Jazz Quartet. Before an introduction of the concert, in a good italian, by Norman Granz.

The second tune is the well known composition of Giuffre: Four Brothers, famous for the four saxes arrangement, that he made for the Woody Herman orchestra.

The following tune is a composition of Jim Hall: Careful

The new tune is another original composition by Giuffre: Princess

A new one original composition by Giuffre: The Little Melody

The exibition was concluded with Time Machine by Giuffre

For that I know the Trio with Buddy Clark never was recorded in studio, so those videos are the only existing attestation.

Jazz Live in Europe: Miles Davis "Lost quintet" (1969)

The performances of Miles Davis with the so called Lost quintet [M. D. (tr), Wayne Shorter (ss, ts) Chick Corea (el-p), Dave Holland (bs, el-bs) Jack DeJohnette (drm)] are some of the most interesting of his career. The quintet was so named because they never recorded as five-men lineup in the studio, and only on 2001 with It's About That Time [Live at the Fillmore East mar. 7, 1970]

it was possible to listen to them on an official release.
The blogger Heat Warps posted 3 album botlegs with some performances of the quintet in France (Juan-les-Pins july 1969, Paris Salle Pleyel, nov. 1969 2 sets) that is possible to download here.
In the following videos we can see the quintet in Rome (Italy) at Teatro Sistina oct. 27, 1969

and in Copenhagen (Denmark) at Tivoli Konsertsal nov. 4, 1969.

Jazz Live in Europe: Bill Evans trio in Rome (Italy) 1979

This video of 1979 is one of the last appearances in Italy of the great pianist Bill Evans (1929 - 1980) in trio with Marc Johnson (bs) and Joe La Barbera (drm). The song is My Romance of Rogers & Hart

...

The young bassist Marc Johnson (class 1953), who'll become one of the most interesting bassists in following years, is here at his first professional experience outside of his country. He is well known in Italy for his recordings in trio with Enrico Pieranunzi, the italian jazz pianist.
Joe La Barbera (class 1948) is a refined drummer considered the heir of Shelly Manne.
